Macon city wide prayer vigil for shooting victims of Emanuel A.M.E. Church
All races and religions came together to pray for peace across the community and nation.
“No matter what the color of your skin, or your religious background, or your ethnicity we are all people and we have different personalities,” says Steward Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church Pastor Maria Gordon. “So, hopefully this will unify us.”
House of Hope Pastor Reginald Sharpe served as worship leader and master of ceremony.
There were several different types of prayers offered during the service, including prayer of forgiveness & salvation, prayer of healing & restoration, prayer for the nation, prayer for racial harmony, prayer for justice, and a prayer for unity and love.
Several elected officials addressed the congregation.
Pastor Gordon says the prayer vigil was a collaboration with House of Hope Church.
