Macon City Council Wants Proper Compensation For Employees in Transition

Tonight, Macon City Council took a look at the proposed options to transition nearly one hundred city employees to the county under the new service delivery strategy, and council isn’t happy with the county’s plan for the workers.

Nearly every council member spoke out tonight, on behalf of the city workers, who they say, were blind-sided by the change. The county is looking at three different options to transition the employees, but as of right now, the commissioners are only moving forward with one. This plan treats the employees as new hires.
