Macon City Council Hears About Changes to Employee Transfer Plan

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Tonight, Macon leaders heard new updates on the plan to transition 142 city employees to Bibb County.

Since the city signed the service delivery strategy to transfers the employees, there’s been a lot of concern about what’s going to happen to the employee benefits and pension fund. The county initially talked about treating them as new hires. Now, the employees will go through a six month probation period in the county. Once that’s over, they will be treated based on their years of service for the city of Macon.
