Macon church donates food to needy

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- A Middle Georgia church gave away food to less fortunate families ahead of the upcoming holiday season.

New Pilgrim Baptist Church provides groceries to more than a hundred people each year. With the holidays approaching, Pastor Bryant Raines wants his congregation to understand it’s more important to give than receive.

“We know there a lot of people that don’t have, and we want to give back,” Curtis Raines, a church member, said. “This is just an effort for us to channel back to the community.”

The church plans to hold a toy drive next month.
