Macon Central Services Moved To New Office
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon’s central services department has a new home. Thursday, the mayor and other city leaders gathered to cut the ribbon at an open house ceremony. Macon Central Services’ staff and workers held the celebration at their new building locateed at 1000 Seventh Street.
A small crowd made up of city officials and employees listened as Mayor Robert Reichert thanked everyone involved for helping to make the move possible.
A key function of Macon Central Services Department is to maintain traffic signals and signs, electrical, and general maitenance.
Many other city departments have also recently relocated their offfices from Riverside Dr. City leaders said moving the Central Services office was the next logical step.
“We do not want to stand in the way of progress. We had the opportunity to get out the building and we found this building, which over all we were able to transform into our needs as far as our operation,” said Gene Simonds Director of the Macon Central Services.
Many other city departments have also recently relocated their offices from Riverside Drive, so leaders said moving this central services was the next logical step.
