Macon career fest draws hundreds of high schoolers

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Hundreds of high school students in Middle Georgia got a chance to meet with about 65 recruiters from colleges and businesses at an annual career fest hosted by the 100 Black Men of Macon-Middle Georgia.

Event organizers say this is an opportunity for students to meet one on one with recruiters and ask questions about different career paths as they prepare for graduation.

“My goal is to make sure you have a plan when you walk across the stage and get your high school diploma,” says Rene Neville, Chair Person of 100 black men of Macon-Middle Georgia.

He adds asking the right questions and meeting with the right people can help students gain more knowledge of options that are available after graduation.

The career fest will continue tomorrow from 8:30a.m. until 1:30p.m at the Macon Centreplex.
