MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Shoppers looking for luxury clothing at discounted prices can find major deals in Macon later this month during the 17th annual Boutique Warehouse Sale.

The sale, happening Saturday, January 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., will feature more than 10 local boutiques offering luxury clothing at reduced prices. With the cost of clothing rising, Rumor Boutique owner Ashley Johnson says the sale offers significant savings.

The annual sale will be at the Rescue Mission Chapel building, located at 6601 Zebulon Road.

Johnson organized the first sale in 2010 following the Great Recession of 2008. Since then, it has become the biggest sale of the year for local boutique owners and customers.

“You can get some great deals and great merchandise, and things up to 90% off,” she said. “It’s all brand-new clothing, and there’s no other way to explain it other than it’s a steal.”

Johnson says boutiques will be selling some winter and fall merchandise that has been marked down.

“We also have some things from the clearance rack that are $20 and even less than that,” she said. “So we’ll have lots of deals, and a lot of the boutiques will do $20 racks, $30 racks and $40 racks. So you’re talking significant savings, great deals on all brand-new merchandise from 11 different boutiques.”

She says the sale benefits boutique owners while also helping shoppers who want to dress well but may not be able to afford full retail prices.

“Well hopefully they’ll have a very good experience when they come to the Boutique Warehouse Sale,” she said. “They’ll get to know the owners and the people that work there, and they can get a sense of the type of merchandise they carry in their specific store. And then that will intrigue them to shop locally at that boutique in the future.”
