Macon-Bibb United Boxing Club to host anniversary boxing show
The Macon-Bibb United Boxing Club is celebrating its 11th anniversary with a boxing show this weekend.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — More than 100 boxers are expected to compete in about 60 matches during an event Saturday at Freedom Park, organizers said.
The show begins at noon. Admission is $10, while children 5 and under get in free.
“This show is going to be our biggest and best yet,” Freedom Park Center Supervisor James Hand said. “These boxers have worked really hard to showcase their skills this weekend. This is a great opportunity for our community to see how much talent we have at Freedom Park.”
Top fighters include Camare Bailes, ranked No. 6 in the nation from Macon, and Steven Colome, ranked No. 2 in the nation from Florida. Local professional boxers Michael, Maliek and Mikhail Montgomery are also supporting the event.
Hand said the show is a chance for the community to support rising athletes.
“We’re going to have a lot of fights tomorrow,” he said. “And people are going to see a lot of talent too. We got a kid that’s ranked number 6 in the nation right now from Macon, Georgia and we also have a female, she’s ranked number three in the nation. She ain’t fought in about a year or two now, and she still ranked third in the nation.”
