Macon-Bibb to receive help on improving the growth of the city

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb has been chosen as one of the 14 out of more than 120 applicants to receive a free two-day technical assistance workshop from Smart Growth America.

Smart Growth America is a nonprofit organization that supports the improvement of cities, towns and neighborhoods.

The workshop will offer assistance in building a stronger Macon.

Macon-Bibb Mayor Robert Reichert says, “With the growing downtown presence of Navicent Health and Mercer University – as well as the growth of private businesses and increase in people living in the area – this is a key moment to ensure we are growing in a sustainable manner that promotes a walkable, bikeable, and equitable community.”

Macon-Bibb was the only city in Georgia chosen.
