Macon-Bibb officials looking into $4 million revenue loss

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb commissioners are figuring out how their LOST revenue dropped $4 million.

LOST stands for Local Option Sales Tax. In Fiscal Year 2012, the “miscellaneous services” category brought in about $6 million. However in FY 2013, it only brought in about $2.5 million.

The budget staff is contacting the Department of Revenue to find out what happened.

Commissioner Gary Bechtel said it could be as simple as a coding error or something bigger.
