MTA announces bus service changes ahead of Hurricane Helene

MTA to halt bus services early due to Hurricane Helene, with plans to resume operations tomorrow morning.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority (MTA) is taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety of its bus operators and riders as Hurricane Helene approaches Middle Georgia. In response to the severe weather projections, the MTA has announced the following changes to its bus services:

  1. The last bus will leave the Terminal Station at 5:25 PM this evening.
  2. All MTA buses, including both Fixed Route and Paratransit services, will complete their routes by 7:00 PM.
  3. Bus service will be delayed tomorrow morning, with service resuming at 7:25 AM on Friday for both Fixed Route and Paratransit buses.
