Macon-Bibb firefighters audition for 2026 charity calendar benefiting children’s hospital
Dozens of Macon-Bibb firefighters auditioned for a spot in the 2026 calendar, with proceeds going to support children’s healthcare in Middle Georgia.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department held auditions for the 2026 Middle Georgia Firefighter Calendar on Thursday.
More than 60 firefighters signed up to audition, but only 36 will be chosen to be featured in the calendar.
The judges were looking for the healthiest and fittest firefighters to represent the department. Macon-Bibb County Fire Department Captain Phillip Herndon says the calendar will benefit children’s healthcare in Middle Georgia.
“The most important thing is to help the children,” he said. “That’s what we do for a living. We take care of people. If you’ve never been to the children’s hospital, go there one time and you’ll want to give them everything you got. So, that’s the main thing is to help and give back to the children.
A portion of proceeds raised will be donated to Navient Health Foundation to support the Macon’s Atrium Health Navicent Levine Children’s Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital.
