Macon-Bibb Fire investigators looking for arson suspect
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb fire investigators are looking for an arson suspect.
Sgt. Ben Gleaton with the Macon-Bibb Fire Department tells 41NBC someone intentionally set fire to about 50 bales of hay next to the Macon Housing Authority’s leasing office on A street. The hay bales were stacked next to the building so the fire spread to the attic and caused it to partially collapse. It happened Friday night around 10.
The fire department is still investigating this case. Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 478-742-2330 or the Georgia Arson Control Hotline at 1-800-282-5804. Sgt. Gleaton says the Arson Control Hotline offers up to $10,000 in reward money for arson tips.
