Macon-Bibb Emergency Management Agency launches new app
The new app allows you to not only check the weather, river and lake levels, but you can also notify your friends or family of your location for safety reasons.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon-Bibb Emergency Management Agency has launched a new app.
Macon-Bibb EMA says it created the MBCAlert App to provide disaster and emergency information.
“Communicating with the public is one of the most important aspects of emergency management,” EMA Director Spencer Hawkins said. “The development and release of the MBCAlert smartphone app adds another layer of clear and timely messaging to our other communication tools.”
The new app allows you to not only check the weather, river and lake levels, but you can also notify your friends or family of your location for safety reasons.
“This app along with the MBCAlert notification system and the NOAA Weather radios provides our community with accurate, easily understandable information before, during, and after a disaster,” Hawkins said. “This app also provides information on current weather conditions, how to prepare for disasters and what disaster to prepare for, and so much more.”
You can download the free MBCAlert App on any smartphone or tablet by going to the app store. Click here to download on Google Play and click here to download on Apple.
