Macon-Bibb EMA to host Emergency Preparedness Fair Saturday

The free event at Wesleyan College features safety education, disaster planning resources, family games and emergency supply giveaways for Macon-Bibb residents.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – As storms continue to impact Middle Georgia, and with hurricane season just a couple of days away, the Macon-Bibb County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is encouraging residents to participate in the Emergency Preparedness Fair at Wesleyan College on Saturday. It’s happening at the Candler Alumnae Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sophie Rosen, the EMA Special Project Officer, says it’s important to be ready for unexpected disasters.

Attendees will have access to valuable information about making their homes and families safer in the when emergencies happen.

“Whether it’s fire safety or scammer safety or taking care of your pets during a disaster or even basic car seat checks for your children, we want to make sure that everyone in Macon-Bibb County knows about all the resources that they can stay prepared and stay safe during a disaster,” Rosen said.

In addition to educational resources, the event promises free food, family games, activities and emergency supply giveaways for participants.
