MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority is doing its part to keep local teenagers busy this summer.

For just $25, students aged 13 through 18 can get an MBCTA bus pass that provides unlimited rides along the transit authority’s 11 routes. Jami Gaudet, MBCTA Public Information Officer, says the routes include access to each of Macon’s public libraries and recreation departments, which she hopes will help promote summer reading and employment.

“There are a number of museums and things throughout the city that are free,” Gaudet said. “Some things you have to pay for. But you can go to the library. You can go to the park. You can go to a museum. There are so many things to do to keep kids off the street, doing something positive and something productive all summer long.”

To register for a pass, teens will need proof of age and student enrollment (on smart phone or hard copy). Registration begins on Friday, May 30, at the Terminal Station, located on 200 Cherry Street. The 2025 Teen Summer Bus Pass will be valid from Monday, June 2, through Thursday, July 31.
