Macon-Bibb County Fire Dept. Investigates Duplex Fire

The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department is investigating a duplex fire this evening at 2191 Beech Ave. According to witnesses, the roof was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived around 6 o’clock.

A relative of the duplex’s owner told 41 NBC he thinks the fire is suspicious, because no one lives in the apartment where it started.

“Basically it seems sort of strange that it would happen with no electric or lights or power at the house,” said Alfonso Shine, the brother-in-law of the duplex owner.

No one was home or injured during the blaze. Damage estimates are not available yet.
