Macon-Bibb County Fire Department puts out fire at River Park Apartments

The American Red Cross was contacted to provide assistance to the residents. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. 

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Macon-Bibb County Fire Department put out a structure fire at the River Park Apartments on July 4, according to Captain Kyle Murray.

According to the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department, the structure fire began at 720 Tidewater Circle after 9 p.m.

Fire crews found a 2-story apartment building with heavy fire coming from a second floor apartment. The fire was quickly contained and was kept from spreading.

An additional apartment sustained moderate fire damage and 7 other apartments sustained smoke and water damage.

The American Red Cross was contacted to provide assistance to the residents. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
