Macon-Bibb Consolidation Task Force First Meeting

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The 15 member Macon-Bibb County Consolidation task force met for the first time this morning. The group focused their first gathering on hammering out logistics for future meetings.

Meetings will be held every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 3:30 pm. The group decided to meet at the on neutral ground at the Regional Commission.

They also voted on a quorum set at 8 people which is the majority of the group. “Robert’s Rules of Order” will be the standard procedure used during meeting time. Chairman of the Bibb County Delegation, Nikki Randall, said it was important to nail down these details to keep the team on track.

“We have an awesome task to make sure that we create the best policy to recommend to the new government and the bottom line is, this is our community, and if it’s going to be the great community that I know it can be, we’re going to work together, we’re going to do what we have to do, putting aside our differences, and making sure we’re doing what’s in the best interest of Macon and Bibb County citizens,” says State Representative Nikki Randall, (D) District 142.

The meetings are open to the public, but will not be televised. The next is scheduled for Wednesday, September 19th.
