Macon-Bibb Consolidation Bill Passes in Georgia House

ATLANTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon and Bibb County are one step closer to consolidation as the State House of Representatives approved House Bill 1171, which would consolidate the two governments.

State Representative Allen Peake tells 41NBC the bill passed with no changes. The consolidation bill now heads to the State Senate, where Peake says he expects minor technical changes to be made.

The Senate will vote on the bill at the end of next week.
