Macon-Bibb Committee votes to move SPLOST funds for Tattnall Sqaure Park renovation
The Operations and Finance committee voted to allocate $200,000 of SPLOST funds leftover from a previous project and use the funds to renovate the tennis courts at the park.
Macon-Bibb County’s representative Chris Floore says the renovation is only part of a larger project, which involves several organizations and its contribution to help improve the area.
“With this approval in committee, and possibly in commission next week we’ll be able to move $200,000 in SPLOST funds in order to do a new roof on the tennis center, new paint, upgrade the bathrooms, and possibly the observation decks, so people can watch the tournaments,” says Floore.
He adds now that the committee has voted and approved the funds, members will bring the resolution to the Macon-Bibb County Commission meeting for a final approval vote on Tuesday, September 2.
