Macon-Bibb commissioners approve baseball feasibility study
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb county leaders are taking the next step to bring minor league baseball back to Macon.
Commissioners approved a resolution Tuesday night to pay a company $50,000 to conduct a feasibility study. It will figure out if Macon is a good place to have a minor league baseball team.
The study will be paid for using funds from the Bibb Mill Tax Allocation District, which is right across from the Macon Centreplex. That is a possible site for the ball park. The money comes from future tax revenue made on that area because of the increase of property values.
