Macon-Bibb C.A.R.E.S. event to connect residents with trauma support, resources

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with local agencies to host a free community trauma response event Wednesday.

Macon-Bibb C.A.R.E.S. will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. October 7 at the Tubman Museum, located at 310 Cherry St. in Macon.

The Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Macon-Bibb District Attorney’s Office and Bibb County Board of Education for the event.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the event is open to people of all ages and is designed to connect residents with organizations and resources that can provide support during times of need.

Attendees will have an opportunity to meet with trauma counselors and learn about financial assistance and other community resources.

Refreshments will also be provided.

The Sheriff’s Office said the event will focus on connecting community members with support and resources available in Macon-Bibb County.
