Macon-Bibb agencies team up to ensure child safety
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – First responders in Macon-Bibb are making sure parents are being proactive and staying on top of their child’s information in case of an emergency.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and the Macon-Bibb Fire Department teamed up with Burlington Coat Factory To make sure kids get their fingerprints recorded, height and weight measured, and a picture taken.
Sergeant Wanda Ammons with the sheriff’s office, says this information could be helpful if the worst was to happen.
“It’s good information to have on your child, just in case of a child abduction, kidnapping, and you can always go back into your own file and use the information that you have,” Ammons said.
Each parent went away with a c-d with all of their child’s information, free of charge.
Ammons adds this is a service the sheriff’s office will perform for free and all you have to do is call.
