UPDATE: Macon bank robbery suspect arrested

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Milledgeville man is accused of robbing three banks in Macon over the last month.

Bibb deputies found 59-year-old Quinn Morgan in a white Jeep Liberty on First Street shortly after a robbery was reported at the Robins Financial Credit Union on Mulberry Street Tuesday.

Investigators said that was the same car used to get away from the previous robberies of CGR at the Medical Center, Navicent Health on May 13 and BB&T Bank on Second Street on May 2.

Deputies said they saw Morgan running toward the car and detained him for questioning.

Morgan is charged with two counts of armed robbery for the CGR Credit Union and Robins Financial Credit Union cases.

He’s also charged with robbery by intimidation for the BB&T Bank robbery.

Bibb County Sheriff’s investigators are questioning a person who could be responsible for a robbery at the Robins Financial Credit Union on Mulberry Street.

It happened Tuesday morning around 10:30 a.m.

Lt. Randy Gonzalez with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said someone came into the bank and handed the teller a note demanding money.

Once the person got the money, he or she ran away.

No one was injured.

Shortly after the robbery, a person matching the description of the robbery suspect was stopped about a block away in a jeep, according to Gonzalez.

The person who committed the crime could face a charge of commercial robbery by intimidation.

Investigators aren’t releasing the suspect’s name at this time.

Once they confirm this is the person who robbed the bank, more information will be released.
