Low pressure keeps overcast skies in the area

Middle Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The cloudy skies aren’t going away until later in the week. What we have is a low pressure system in the Gulf that has delivered lots of clouds to our area. It’ll move to the north, and as it does, we’ll get more showers and possibly a few storms during the afternoon and especially this evening. No severe weather is forecasted with this system — just increased rain chances. The showers persist through the overnight hours, so many of you will wake up to showers tomorrow morning.

The good news is the cold front moving into the area later this week. It’ll sweep this low pressure system out of the area, and as that system goes, so go the clouds. So far, I have highs/lows dropping to 70s/50s by the end of the week — right around the average — so get ready for a fantastic weekend.
