Long line for free turkeys from Neighborhood Law firm

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Some folks are going to enjoy this Thanksgiving with a free turkey.
The line stretched across the parking lot of the Overtime Bar and Grill on Pio Nono Avenue.
More than 600 people stood in line for hours waiting for free turkeys courtesy of the Neighborhood Law Group.
People were asked to register for the turkeys on-line. Carol Robinson says she was in line for hours even though she registered, two weeks ago.
“I feel real thankful,” says Robinson. “Because how could we have a Thanksgiving dinner, without a turkey?”
The senior partner of the law firm, Daryl Von Yokely, admitted they ran into a few kinks, but they were quickly resolved.
“This morning there was a group of about 100 people, 75 to 100 people, who said they tried to register on-line and couldn’t,” says Yokely. “We wrote their names down and added them to the list.”
Yokely says his law firm promoted giving away 500 free turkeys. He realized more than 600 people showed up for the event expecting to get one. But he says if their names were not on the registration list, they were going home empty handed.
