London stabbing attack declared terrorism incident
Authorities in London have declared a violent stabbing attack targeting Jewish men a terrorism incident after dramatic body camera and surveillance footage captured the suspect’s arrest.

(NBC)- Police say a 45-year-old man armed with a knife stabbed two Jewish men in a northwest London neighborhood known for its large Jewish community. One victim is in his 70s and the other in his 30s. Both remain hospitalized. Body camera footage released by the Metropolitan Police shows officers—armed only with Tasers—confronting the suspect as he refused repeated commands to drop the weapon.
Officers eventually subdued and arrested the man after deploying Tasers and pinning him to the ground. Surveillance video also captured the moment the suspect allegedly lunged at one of the victims during the attack.
“This has now formally been declared a terrorist incident,” said Laurence Taylor, head of counterterrorism policing for the Metropolitan Police.
Investigators say the suspect is a British national born in Somalia and has a history of violent offenses and mental health concerns. The attack has intensified fears within the local Jewish community, especially following other recent incidents in the area—including the burning of four volunteer Jewish ambulances last month. Police are now investigating whether the stabbing is connected to previous attacks on Jewish sites in London.
Community leaders say antisemitism remains a growing concern.
“The root cause is antisemitism and that needs to be unacceptable in this country,” said Andrew Cohen.
