Local restaurants prepare for Downtown Macon French Fry Fight

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – NewTown Macon is set to host Downtown Macon French Fry Fight on July 10. Locally-owned restaurants will sell creative fry specials as they compete for the title of ‘Fry Champion’ and the Super Spud trophy.
Emily Hopkins, Vice President of External Affairs and Main Street Macon Manager, says all of the specials are between $10 to $20.
Kaitlynn Kressin, a local business owner, says this is an opportunity for people to support local businesses and keep them busy during the slower Summer months.
According to NewTown Macon, the specials are below:
- Bearfoot Tavern: Poutine Beef and Mozzarella fries
- Biddy’s: Sumo Fries -$11.99 (Chopped hotiyaki tenders, sweet sesame slaw drizzled with biddys yum yum sauce on a bed of fries)
- The Brick: Fiesta Fries -$10 (The Brick’s famous seasoned fries, white queso, lime cilantro aioli, corn, green onion, chopped cilantro, fresh lime and Tajin)
- Cashman’s Pub: Asian Sesame Fries (Asian braised short rib, Japanese barbecue sauce, scallions, and sesame seeds. Served with a side of yum yum sauce)
- Daiquiris & More: Ginger Teriyaki Chicken Fries -Small: $10, Large: $14 (House made Ginger Teriyaki Sauce, crispy chicken, Sesame seeds and chives)
- Fall Line Brewing Co: Philly Cheese Steak Fries -$13 (Shaved steak, green peppers and onions, topped with swiss cheese and garlic aioli, piled high on crispy curly fries)
- Felicia’s Cake Factory: Sweet Fries -$4.50 (Sugar cookie “fries” w/frosting “ketchup”)
- H&H: The Bird’s Nest -$15 (Bowl of fries topped with white bean chili, smoked turkey, bacon, sour cream, cheese, and serrano peppers.)
- Hotel Forty Five: Sweet & Salty -$12 (Skin sweet potato, marshmallow fluff, house caramel, lake salt)
- Hotel Forty Five: Bleu -$15 (Fresh cut chipperbec cooked in beef tallow, Blue Point Reyes fondue, roast garlic aioli, chives)
- Just Tap’d: French Fry Pizza -$16 (Crinkle cut fries, spicy jalapeños, crunchy Fritos, green onions, baked to perfection on a chilli cheese pizza)
- Kinjo Kitchen + Cocktails: Loaded Street Fries -$15 (Crispy fast food style French fries, smoked pork, sweet and savory Korean style BBQ sauce, kimchi style slaw, and tangy street fry sauce)
- Kudzu Seafood Company: ‘Peaches & Cream Dream’ -$12.95 (Sweet potato waffle fries, grilled peaches, bacon, blue cheese crema and balsamic reduction)
- La Bella Morelia: Tinga Chicken Fries (Tinga chicken (shredded chicken in a tangy tomato and chipotle sauce) with melted cheese and chipotle, mayo, ketchup, and jalapenos)
- Macon Water Ice: Salmon Fries -$15 (Salmon, seasoned fries, grilled onions, sweet peppers, broccoli, cheese, special sauce)

- Piedmont Brewery & Kitchen: Chipotle mac and brisket fries (Waffle fries topped with Chipotle beer cheese mac, brisket, ranch, and green onions)
- Rookery: Rook Burger Battered Fries -$16 (Battered fries topped with cheese burger ground beef, lettuce, tomato, onion, dill pickle chips, and burger sauce)
- Satterfield’s BBQ: Smokehouse Loaded Fries -$13 (Slow-smoked pulled pork, cheese sauce, crispy onions, shredded cheddar cheese, house-made white sauce, house-made sweet sauce, and slaw)
- Sweet Eleanor’s: Nanny’s Funnel Cake Fries -$8 (Funnel cake with raspberry sauce)
