Local Organization Awards Grants To Beautify College Hill Corridor
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A local organization awards nearly a quarter million dollars as part of the Knight Neighborhood Challenge to beautify the College Hill corridor.
The Community Foundation of Central Georgia awarded 12 grants totaling $249, 394 as part of the initiative’s sixth round of funding. The 12 new projects include creating a corridor teen forum, building a gathering garden, the Macon Music Ambassadors project and code enforcement for the area.
“People and organizations come up with the ideas to implement the master plan they apply to the Knight Neighborhood Challenge and then we look at them and decide which are the most exciting and get the job done,” Kathryn Dennis with the Community Foundation of Central Georgia said.
Since the start of Knight Neighborhood Challenge, the community foundation has awarded more than a million dollars to improve the College Hill corridor.
