Local Church Makes Thanksgiving Day Meal Deliveries

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Today, one Middle Georgia church delivered home-cooked meals, and hope to members in the Macon community.

More than 25 volunteers from New Birth Baptist Church on 1830 Williamson Road brought dishes from their table to the church in order pack-up and send-out to elderly and disabled citizens.

The group coordinator Vernice Chappell says Thanksgiving is about giving from your heart and her passion is serving the community, especially those who need it the most.

“The elders are most of the time forgotten or left out, and that’s my passion to see about them, because they have done their duties. Now, it’s our turn to show them the favor…the thank you,” says Chappell.

In total, the group delivered meals to 35 individuals and families in the Macon area.
