Local church hosts free community health fair

The free community health care will have services for children, families, and seniors.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Glorious Hope Baptist Church is hosting a free community health fair that will include free haircuts for attendees and a voter registration booth.

The event is August 3 at Glorious Hope Baptist Church, which is located at 3805 Napier Avenue. The health fair is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tameka Jackson, health ministry coordinator, says this event is for the community and there will be over 30 vendors.

Jada Herring, program coordinator, says they began this program began 2 years ago to help bridge the gap within the healthcare desert.

There will be free haircuts, a book bag giveaway, and chiropractic services. The health fair will focus on mental health, aging and dementia, pediatrics, stroke prevention, PEACH care, blood pressure, breast cancer prevention and more.

Jackson emphasizes that there will also be voter registration opportunities because this is an important election year.
