Local Church Hosts Affordable Care Act Informational Meeting
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Community Church of God on the corner of Grant Avenue and Walnut St. in Macon hosted an Affordable Care Act Town Hall Meeting on Saturday afternoon.
The Macon Shalom Zones presented speaker Katherine McLeod, an employee of First Choice Primary Care, to speak about options the Affordable Healthcare Act gives members of the community.
About 20 or so people attended the event, which was meant to clarify the opportunity the new health care law provides.
“So I’m here just to talk about the basics of that opportunity–of that process,” said McLeod. “It’s very confusing and there’s been a lot in the press about it, but just wanted to provide a little basic information for people.”
The Shalom Zone provides programs throughout the year focusing on different aspects of the community–from health to crime. You can find out more information about the Macon Shalom Zones at its website, here.
