Local bar feeds homeless Thanksgiving meals

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A local business fed hundreds of homeless men and women a hot Thanksgiving meal Tuesday.

Overtyme Bar and Grill in Macon fed clients of Daybreak, Loaves and Fishes, residents of the Salvation Army and Macon Rescue Mission.

From green beans, to turkey wings, rice and all of the Thanksgiving fixings, many were thankful. In addition to the meal, free haircuts, blood pressure screenings, and dental hygiene services were provided.

Charity Harris is the owner of Overtyme Bar and Grill. She says, “It’s always important as a business owner to be able to give back to the community, to know that we’re making a difference.”

Each adult who attended received a bag of personal care items. This is Overtyme Bar and Grill’s fifth year hosting a Thanksgiving event.
