MACON, Georgia. (41NBC/WMGT)- A few showers are possible over the next couple of days before Zeta brings rain to the Peach State starting Wednesday.

TODAY.

Under a mostly cloudy sky this afternoon temperatures will top out in the middle and upper 70’s. Light, isolated showers will be hit or miss throughout the day. Tonight we will see temperatures fall into the middle 60’s. Patchy dense fog is likely by tomorrow morning.

TOMORROW.

Tuesday will be mostly dry with temperatures in the low 80’s. Showers will begin to work into the area by the late evening and overnight hours.

WEEK AHEAD.

By midweek our attention will turn to the Gulf where now Tropical Storm Zeta is expected to make landfall as a hurricane on the Louisiana coastline by Wednesday afternoon. Middle Georgia impacts will begin to be felt Wednesday evening and look to continue through midday Thursday.

Local impacts will be heavy rain, gusty winds and the potential for a brief, spin-up tornado. We will continue to fine tune this forecast in the coming days.
