Less humid, more sun in Middle Georgia

Middle Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — After two days of rain and storms, a drier pattern starts in the area that will last several days. What has happened is a front delivered to us precipitation, and for a lot of your lawns, it was welcome precipitation. It is moving out of the Middle Georgia area, taking the clouds and rain with it.

The bad news? We’re not going to get cooler temperatures despite its departure. The good news? The humidity drops today, so the sweltering heat indices will be kept down. The high today will hover around 94, so with the lower humidity, it won’t feel much hotter than that. A stray storm is possible due to daytime heating, but the lower dew points mean less moisture in the air, so it’s going to be tough for storms to form. I’m putting the storm chance at around 10 percent.

We’ll experience similar weather tomorrow: low dew points and lots of sun. The temperatures will drop a notch to around 92, but it won’t be much of a drop. The dry weather continues through Saturday with rain chances looking to return early next week.
