League of Women Voters Tackle Education on National Level

The Macon Chapter of the League of Women Voters is looking to make an impact on the national level.

The group has been looking at federal involvement in public education for several months now.

League President, Jackie Mays, says the group is working closely with the Bibb County School System to draft a proposal for the national chapter.

“We want a general consensus across the nation of what is good for public education particularly in Bibb County,” says Mays.

Bibb County Deputy Superintendent, Susanne Griffin-Ziebart, was at the group’s meeting on Wednesday to discuss progress in the district.

The league is expected to have its final draft of the study finished by the end of the month.
