Law enforcement search for suspect near Rutland Complex

BCSD says the Bibb County Sheriff's Office assisted the Peach County Sheriff's Office, searching for a suspect in the woods across from the school complex.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)— Numerous law enforcement vehicles we present around Rutland Complex Thursday, as students were being dismissed in a controlled process. This is according to a news release sent by the Bibb County School District.

BCSD says the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Peach County Sheriff’s Office, searching for a suspect in the woods across from the school complex.

They say students were dismissed with additional safety measures through a controlled dismissal process.

Due to the search, the district says buses were late and some students were dismissed late to keep everyone secure. “The safety of our students and staff is a top priority, and we appreciate your understanding,” the news release went on to say.
