Laurens County Sheriff’s deputy involved in fatal shooting

DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Laurens County Sheriff’s deputies served a knock and announce warrant at 1184 Highway 319, the home of 59-year-old David Hooks.

According to the sheriff’s office, during the search Hooks was shot when he grabbed a gun and acted aggressively toward the deputies.

Hooks was given on-site care then taken to the Fairview Park Hospital.

The investigation has been turned over to the Georgia Bureau of Investigators.
