Laurens County Doctor Hit By Car, Dies While Jogging

DEXTER, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Authorities are investigating the death of a Laurens County doctor who was hit and killed by a vehicle while jogging Sunday morning.

Laurens County Deputy Coroner Nathan Stanley says 58-year-old Dr. John Mithcell Bahouth was jogging with his wife on Antioch Church Road off Dublin-Eastman Road. According to the Georgia State Patrol, 30-year-old Jennifer Lindsey Bryant of Dexter was driving a Toyota Camry when the car hit Bahouth around 10 a.m. Stanley says Bahouth was just down the road from his home.

Bahouth was pronounced dead at 10:51 a.m. in the emergency room at Fairview Park Hospital. Stanley says he died from blunt force trauma due to a motor vehicle accident.

The Georgia State Patrol investigated the accident and is conducting a follow up investigation. No other information is available at this time.

Charges won’t be considered until the follow up investigation is completed.
