Last minute shoppers fill Middle Georgia stores despite weather

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Last minute shoppers filled Middle Georgia stores Thursday, looking to cross off those last items on their holiday shopping lists.

As hundreds, if not thousands, shopped in the ‘big box’ stores, even the smaller businesses had their fair share of foot traffic.

“I think people like it a lot because we gift wrap. We do gift baskets, and we’ve done a lot of corporate gift baskets this year, and done a lot of things like that. So I think it kind of takes the stress out of it,” Scott Mitchell, the store manager at Travis Jean Emporium in Macon, said.
