Last Fugitive Caught in Murder Case
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The last fugitive involved in the Zodiac Lounge murder is now behind bars. The U.S. Marshals task force caught 29-year-old Jimmy Scott Tuesday around 11 a.m.,
hiding out in Atlanta.
Scott was among a group of murder suspects wanted for their involvement in the fatal nightclub shooting. He’s charged with criminal attempt to commit murder and participating in street gang activity. The incident happened July 5, around 3:30 a.m., in the Zodiac Lounge’s parking lot, which is located near the intersection of Walnut Street and Broadway in Macon.
17-year-old Jamonni Bland was killed and three other people were injured during the shooting.
The suspects arrested in the murder case include the alleged gunmen John Michael Hollingshed and Andre Bonner. According to arrest warrants, Hollingshed shot Deon Davis eight times at close range,
then passed the gun to suspect Andre Bonner, who shot Bland five times.
The warrants added that Hollingshed is seen on surveillance video shooting Davis.
Other murder suspects arrested include Johnifer Denard Barnwell, Arthur Thomas Freeman, Miranda Pettiway and Kiyo Latrice Johnson.
Jarett Taylor was also arrested as a suspect in the case but police dropped the charges against him. Taylor told 41NBC news he wasn’t at the nightclub at the time of the shooting.
Macon Police Maj. Charles Stone said there has not been any retalliation stemming from the night club shooting. Stone said he expects to see a decrease of crime in Macon since the suspects arrest.
The eight suspects have 106 arrests between them. The newest suspect arrested in the case, Scott, has 22 of those arrests, according to police.
