Large tree falls, knocks out power in Ingelside community

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A huge tree split, fell on a power pole, and cut off power to a Macon neighborhood.

It happened Thursday around 4:25 p.m. at the intersection of Pierce Lane and Ingelside Avenue.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputy Greg Thomas was on patrol when he saw the fallen tree. He tells 41NBC no one called 911 to report the massive fallen tree.

Georgia Power is expected to work through the night to restore power.

Public work crews are also on site using bulldozers to clear all of the debris.
