Lake Joy and Sandefur Roads Re-Open

Houston County residents and leaders celebrated the re-opening of two roads Tuesday. Lake Joy and Sandefur Roads are open for drivers.  The improvements were funded with 2006 splost dollars.  Changes include more lanes and a new traffic signal at the intersection.

“Having been out here since a child and growing up and seeing the progress that has been made it brings us into this century is really what has happened,” said Annette Tucker, Warner Robins resident.

“Out of 20 major road projects we are down to two that are not complete and that’s quite a feet in accomplishing,” Chairman Tommy Stalnaker, Houston County Commission.

The chairman says the roads were completed six months ahead of schedule and under budget.
