Kelly Loeffler confirmed as Trump’s SBA administrator

The Senate confirmed former Senator Kelly Loeffler in a 52-46 vote to lead the Small Business Administration.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Kelly Loeffler is the new Administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA).

The U.S. Senate voted Wednesday to confirm Loeffler in a 52-46 vote. She will now lead the SBA, which provides loans, grants, and resources to support small businesses across the country.

Loeffler previously served in the U.S. Senate after being appointed by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp to fill the seat vacated by retired Senator Johnny Isakson. During her tenure, she aligned closely with former President Donald Trump, questioning his loss in the 2020 presidential election and co-chairing his second inaugural committee.

Her confirmation marks a return to public service as she takes on the role of overseeing small business development, financial support programs, and economic growth initiatives under Trump’s administration.
