Keeping Organized: Dollar Store Finds
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Being organized doesn’t have to be an expensive endeavor. You can keep everything from turning into a jumbled mess even on a minuscule budget. Professional organizer Andi Willis is back to show us her favorite dollar store finds to help keep your life in perfect order.
The first thing Andi mentions is something she’s talked about before: Pool noodles. They can be purchased with pocket change and can be cut up into segments to hold up your boots when you’re not wearing them. Devices made specifically for boots can cost upwards of $20.
Andi’s second tip is to buy plastic eyeglass holders. Now, you don’t need to use them for eyeglasses; pretty much anything can be placed inside of them. An example would be cables and chargers for your mobile devices, which helps keep everything in one easily retrievable place.
Thirdly, Andi suggests small, inexpensive baskets. They come with a few per set, and are in different shapes and sizes. This will help keep your junk drawer separated and more accessible.
Another thing Andi recommends is using a plastic chain, usually used to hang potted plants, to clip extra bags of chips and crackers onto. She has one hanging up in her laundry room to keep her pantry less cluttered.
And lastly, if you’re like Andi’s family, you have more than enough water bottles hiding out in various drawers and cabinets. A plastic container, something even like a dishpan or tub, can easily keep your bottles together in one place.
