Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful: Go Green this Holiday
The countdown for the holidays in on, and many of you are probably already making a list and checking it twice. Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful wants to remind you that it’s easy to go green throughout the holiday season. Laura Jackson joined us on the news at 6pm with details.
Jackson says it’s important to re-purpose your holiday decorations. You can take old cards and frame them for gifts or put them under a glass table for decoration.
Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful encourages you to purchase artificial trees so you can re-use it over the years. Plus, you won’t be contributing to the overflowing landfills.
When you’re cleaning out your decorations, Jackson wants to remind you to donate your gently used items instead of throwing them away.
When it comes to gifts she suggests purchasing things already packaged so you can skip on wrapping paper. A green holiday gift idea is to “Adopt a Spot.” Your office or church group can put their money towards adopting a part of the highway and commit to keeping it clean together all year.
