Kay Jewelers burglarized at the Milledgeville Mall

News release:

On 02/26/2015 at approximately 4:24 AM, officers were dispatched to the Milledgeville Mall for a alarm going off inside Kay Jewelers. Officers arrived an scene and began checking the entire outer perimeter of the mall for any signs of entry points. An immediate check showed no signs of forced entry into the building. Lt. Michael Hudson notified dispatch to try and reach a key holder to the business. After several attempts, no key holder could be reached by police dispatch nor the alarm company. The perimeter around the mall was collapsed due to no signs of forced entry to the outer perimeter. Lt. Etta Gray of the Milledgeville Police Department reported to the mall at approximately 7:49 AM, opening up the mall and finding that a burglary had occurred. Due to her being assigned at the mall, she immediately noticed a make shift rope dangling from an open skylight. After backup arrived on scene, Kay Jewelers was found to have been burglarized.

Detective Scott Goodwin has been assigned the daunting task of finding a lead on the suspect. The suspect can clearly be seen in the video coming down the make shift rope, falling a few feet to the floor. After gathering his composure, he quickly heads towards Kay Jewelers and began cutting through the metal security gate. Fortunately for us, the alarm sounded and scared away the suspect. He appeared to be wearing blue jeans, a dark jacket and a mask.
