Jay’s HOPE Foundation to host 19th annual Trek or Treat

There will be a 5k road race, mile-long unSpooky Sprint, and the Candy Mile for the kids.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Jay’s HOPE Foundation is hosting the 19th annual Trek or Treat.

Executive Director at Jay’s HOPE Foundation, Cindy Gaskins, says the event is open to everyone and encourages the community to show up. Gaskins says this event is for runners and walkers.

Gaskins says the event began 19 years ago with nearly 100 runners, but now they have almost 1,000 participants.

The event is October 26 and begins at 8 a.m. at the Bass Pro Shops in Macon.

There will be a 5k road race, mile-long unSpooky Sprint, and the Candy Mile for the kids.

There will be 35,000 pieces of candy and attendees are encouraged to wear costumes.
