Lantern tours return to Jarrell Plantation with stories of history and mystery

JULIETTE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Visitors can step back in time this October at the Jarrell Plantation State Historic Site, where the “Voices of the Past Lantern Tour” will illuminate stories of fear, folklore, and farm life from the 1920s.

The guided tours will run October 10–12 with start times at 6:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Guests will walk by lantern light through historic buildings lit with candlelight while storytellers share tales of history, mystery, and spooky folk legends passed down for generations.

The experience lasts about an hour and covers a half-mile route up and down hills with limited light. Organizers recommend advance reservations, as space is limited. Tickets can be purchased by phone or online through Eventbrite, with more than 20% savings available by calling the historic site directly at 478-986-5172.
